Conditions of Custom Quilting Services

If the customer wishes to make changes to the thread selection or similar listed on the front of the “Customer Form”, please notify GREENBERG NORDIC CALICO as soon as possible. Once work on the quilt has begun, any changes made by the customer will incur an additional cost. The customer will be charged for the time required to prepare the quilt for the desired changes. There is a fee of 500 NOK per hour for preparing the quilt, including removing any seams that have already been sewn into the quilt. The estimated cost of the customer’s project will be adjusted to reflect both the time it takes to prepare the changes and the changes themselves.

Free-motion quilting is not computer-controlled, but is done by hand by the operator. Because it is done manually, this type of quilting is not “perfect.” Free-motion quilting highlights the handmade look that we all appreciate in handmade quilts.

If the customer lends the quilt for public display or participates in an exhibition, we request that GREENBERG NORDIC CALICO be credited as the quilting machine supplier.

GREENBERG NORDIC CALICO is happy to help the customer choose the design and thread colors for the quilt. If the customer leaves these choices to GREENBERG NORDIC CALICO, it means that the customer has chosen to give us that responsibility. As a professional longarm quilter, the seller will do his best to choose well. Responsibility for design and thread selection starts and ends with the quality of the work delivered by GREENBERG NORDIC CALICO.

GREENBERG NORDIC CALICO values its reputation as a professional longarm quilting company and guarantees the quality of the quilting work performed for you as a valued customer.

Right of Cancellation

The buyer can cancel the order in accordance with the Right of Withdrawal Act.
The buyer must inform the seller that the right of withdrawal is exercised within 14 days after the withdrawal period starts. The withdrawal period begins to run from the date the “Customer Form” is signed and approved by both the seller and the buyer. This period includes all calendar days. If the period expires on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, it is extended to the next working day.

The deadline for exercising the right of withdrawal is considered to have been met if notification is sent before the period expires. The buyer has the burden of proof that the right of withdrawal has been exercised, and the notification must therefore be sent in writing (via withdrawal form, email or letter).

If a problem arises with a finished quilt that has already been returned to the customer and GREENBERG NORDIC CALICO is responsible for the defect, the buyer must notify the seller within 72 hours of receipt. GREENBERG NORDIC CALICO will use all reasonable means to correct the defect. If this is not possible, GREENBERG NORDIC CALICO will issue a credit note covering only the labor cost of the quilting. Batting, backing, edge stitching and thread costs will NOT be included in the credit. The credit constitutes GREENBERG NORDIC CALICO's maximum liability and is valid for ninety (90) days from the date of issue.

The cancellation period begins as follows:
When the right to cancel is exercised, the good must be returned to the seller within a reasonable amount of time and no later than 14 days after notice has been given on the intention to exercise the right. The purchaser must cover the direct costs associated with returning the good, unless otherwise agreed or the seller has not informed the purchaser that he/she has to cover the return costs. The seller may not set fees for the purchaser’s use of the right to cancel.

Defects in goods – the buyer's rights and deadline for complaints

It is recommended that the buyer inspects the purchased goods carefully upon receiving them. If there is a defect in the purchased item(s), the buyer must notify the seller within a reasonable time after the defect is discovered.

The buyer's right to submit a complaint is valid for two years from the date the goods were received.

If the goods have a defect and this is not due to the buyer or circumstances on the buyer's side, the buyer may, in accordance with the rules in Chapter 6 of the Consumer Purchases Act, depending on the circumstances, withhold the purchase price, choose between repair and replacement, demand a price reduction, demand that the agreement be terminated, and/or demand compensation from the seller.

Complaints to the seller should be made in writing by email to: kari@nordiccalico.com

Repair or replacement

The buyer may choose between demanding that the defect be rectified or that a replacement be delivered. However, the seller may object to the buyer's demand if it is impossible to fulfill the demand or if it would entail unreasonable costs for the seller. Rectification or replacement shall be made within a reasonable time. In principle, the seller is not entitled to make more than two attempts to remedy the same defect.

Price reduction

The buyer may demand an appropriate price reduction if the goods are not repaired or replaced. This means that the ratio between the reduced and agreed price corresponds to the ratio between the value of the goods in their defective and contractual condition. If there are special reasons for doing so, the price reduction may instead be set equal to the significance of the defect for the buyer.

Cancellation

If the goods have not been repaired or replaced, the buyer may also cancel the purchase when the defect is not insignificant.

Conflict resolution

Claims must be directed to the seller within a reasonable time The parties shall attempt to resolve any disputes out of court. If this is not successful, the purchaser may contact the Consumer Authority for mediation. The Consumer Authority can be reached on (+47) 23 400 600 or at www.forbrukertilsynet.no.

Hobbs Premium wool batting

We recommend that you hand wash products made with Hobbs Heirloom® Wool Batting in cold water and lay flat to dry. If you prefer machine washing, products made with this wool batting can be machine washed – you should use a gentle cycle and cold/cold water and ensure there is no vigorous agitation or spinning during the wash.
