I grew up in Northern Minnesota, jumping on hay bales and picking berries. My grandmother Thora was born in Oslo, Norway, and now I have returned to my ancestral homeland! I have an MFA (Masters Degree) in Painting from Colorado State University and completed a BA (Bachelors Degree) in Studio Art and Scandinavian Studies at Gustavus Adolphus College.
My first sewing machine was a Bernina which was a Christmas present from my parents when I was 15. I am a mother of two, and a former professor of art and art history. I was also a TICA registered Norwegian Forest Cat breeder in the US before moving to Norway – my company name and logo represent this history!
In English, the term 'calico' refers both to a multi-colored cat, as well as to prints on cotton fabric, such as that used for quilting.
We recommend that you hand wash products made with Hobbs Heirloom® Wool Batting in cold water and lay flat to dry. If you prefer machine washing, products made with this wool batting can be machine washed – you should use a gentle cycle and cold/cold water and ensure there is no vigorous agitation or spinning during the wash.
